colonial architecture that reveal the people&#8217;s remote identity, as evident <strong>in the Church of Matriz, the S. Jos\u00e9 Seminary-Lyceum, and the old Cathedral<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To the west, with Ribeira Brava still in sight<\/strong>, stretches the green mantle of the village of Cacha\u00e7o, known for its dense fogs, but from where it is possible, on clear days, to contemplate the entire Ribeira Brava.<\/p>\n<p>Still in Cacha\u00e7o, at the top of Monte Gordo, the highest point of the island, at 1,312 meters, it is possible to observe the entire archipelago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For that, however, you need the luck of no fog.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heading to Porto da Pregui\u00e7a, you find the Forte do Pr\u00edncipe Real which, besides fulfilling its function of protecting the island, is also a tribute to Pedro \u00c1lvares Cabral who, on his way to Brazil, passed through
